Please know you are most welcome as a visitor to our website. I trust you find what you are looking for. We all seek meaning in our lives. For the parishioners of Embleton, Jesus and his message of loving God and loving others gives all of us that meaning. I hope this website inspires you to come to visit us to be on site to meet parishioners of the parish and myself for a chat and a hello. And to get involved in our new Mission. If you have any questions, then please sent us an email and I will get back to you in reply.
May the Lord bless you and keep you and love you forever. Warm regards. Fr. Patrick
27. I dream of a “missionary option”, that is, a missionary impulse capable of transforming everything, so that the Church’s customs, ways of doing things, times and schedules, language and structures can be suitably channelled for the evangelization of today’s world rather than for her self-preservation. The renewal of structures demanded by pastoral conversion can only be understood in this light: as part of an effort to make them more mission-oriented, to make ordinary pastoral activity on every level more inclusive and open, to inspire in pastoral workers a constant desire to go forth and in this way to elicit a positive response from all those whom Jesus summons to friendship with himself. As John Paul II once said to the Bishops of Oceania: “All renewal in the Church must have mission as its goal if it is not to fall prey to a kind of ecclesial introversion”.
Our new Parish Mission Statement is:
This combines the "Greatest Commandment" Mark 12:28-34 & the "Great Commission" Matthew 28:20 given by Jesus to his disciples, and everyone of us.
Join us
So our Mission has been given directly to us by Jesus. We are asking all parishioners to join us on this Missionary & Evangelizing journey, by action and prayer.
Today only 10% of Australian Catholics attend the weekly Mass. In 20 years 5% will attend.
The National Centre for Pastoral Research Report on the 2016 Catholic Census concluded, re Mass attendance:
"the moment is more critical and urgent than ever before in Australia’s history....... it would appear that an extraordinary event or events would need to occur before we witness a reversal–or even a plateau –of the declining attendance trends." That was 6 years ago. It's much worse now.
Jesus tell us what the "extraordinary event" needed is. He says we have to:
How do we do that? Simple. We have to make our parish and ourselves "Missionary & Evangelising". That is the number one theme of the Plenary Council. And the last 4 Popes have called for a "New Evangelisation".
Everything we do in our parish should be focussed on this mission.
To begin we are calling for people to join our New Evangelising Team (NET).

Become a "Fisher of Men" - Mark 1:16-18
And pray for our new Mission.
Every parishioner needs to make a sacrifice. Some churches ask members to Tithe ie give 10% of family income. Most of the families at Holy Trinity give less than 1%. Some give nothing.
Please consider giving at least 2.5% or more ie 1/40th. eg if family income is $50,000, give $1250/year = $25/week, $110/month.
Holy Trinity need funds to answer Jesus's call to be "Fishers of Men". Jesus asked the rich young man to give everything. 1/40th is not much of a sacrifice. Sacrificial Giving means an actual sacrifice.
We are asking every parishioner and family to pledge to give at least 1/40th from now on. We understand if some cannot. For most families it means at 4-5 times as much as they are giving now. For some, much more. We are blessed with the gift of Faith handed down to us by Jesus, the Apostles and Saints, many of whom gave everything, including their lives.
Jesus tells the parable of the servant to whom the Master entrusted 1 talent, and he buried it in the gound and gave it back when the Master returned.
Our Australian Church isn't even giving back to Jesus the faith we have received. We are losing baptised Catholics every day. Jesus says the Master was very angry with his servant who lost nothing but made nothing.
Let's use our "Talents" and give, to: MAKE DISCIPLES
